Royal jelly is one of the most important products of the hive.
Researchers from around the world are studying the mysterious properties, including those that allow anyone that consumes it to live healthier and longer.
Royal jelly secreted by Hypo pharyngeal glands of young female workers (4-12 days) and serves to feed the queen, and fry until the third day.

It contains all the essential amino acids and several enzymes.
Sugars are mainly glucose and fructose predominant fructose.
Lipids are unique and are an interesting feature of royal jelly. Lipids is 8-10 carbon atoms, in contrast with the corresponding animal or vegetable having 14 to 20 carbon atoms. These fatty acids are responsible for most of the biological properties of royal jelly.
The predominant are: 10-hydroxy-2-decanoic acid, followed by 10-hydroxydecanoic acid. Royal jelly contains minerals such as: K, Na,
Zn, Fe, Cu and Mn.
It is also rich in vitamins such as B1, B2, B5, B6, Niacin, Folic Acid, Inositol, Vitamin H (Biotin). The 10-hydroxy-decanoic acid is important because it is an indicator of the quality of royal jelly (greater than 1.8% by dry weight).
Let us now look at some pharmacological properties of royal jelly:

• Helps in treating inflamed tissues.
• Reduces the weight of the kidneys, it improves their function thus better operation,
        less kidney tissue.

• Increases production of white blood cells thus better immune.
• Has immuno modulatory action.
• Makes the skin more youthful and clearer.
